Ben de Lisi closes womenswear label
By Lucy Hutchings on Tuesday 12 May 2009
Designer Ben de Lisi has announced that he is closing his eponymous womenswear line in June, along with his flagship London store.
The move will mean an end to the London-based designer's regular spot at the capital's bi-annual fashion week, and the red carpet dresses that brought him fame, namely that asymmetric red gown, which Kate Winslet famously wore to the 2002 Oscars.
But this will not be the last the style industry sees of de Lisi.
He will continue his Designers at Debenhams high street collection, and is set to focus his attention on a burgeoning interior design business, as well as dedicating time to his love of painting and sculpting, with a one-man show set for autumn.
