Exposed zips cropped up all over the spring '09 collections, spotted at Julien Macdonald, Versace, Preen and Missoni, so it's no surprise that both Becki Newton and Lucy Liu have embraced the trend and snapped up matching 3.1 Phillip Lim dresses.

The zipped-up design was first spotted on the lovely Miss Liu back in February, who wore hers to attend Patricia Field's birthday party.

Adding tights and a pair of YSL's Tribute heels, the actress looked sweet and chic.



Style round-two, and the Ugly Betty beauty stepped out in hers to support co-star America Ferrera, who was hosting a Gotham Magazine party in New York.

Like Liu, she kept accessories to a minimum, but ditched the tights in favour of flashing her pins.
