Lily Allen is Chanel's new girl

Lily Allen is adding model to her CV this month, with news just in that she's set to front Chanel's autumn/winter '09 accessories collection.

The Smile singer clearly has worked her magic on Karl Lagerfeld, as he personally picked her to front the new campaign, telling WWD, 'She's fun.'

Allen has a well-known penchant for all things Chanel. She is rarely without its iconic 2.55 handbags draped on her arm, and took a front row seat at its Paris Fashion Week show, before hitting the after party with Kate Moss, and Mr Lagerfeld himself.

Speaking to The New York Times she revealed the extent of her obsession, giving its journalist a sneak-peek at her designer packed wardrobe, and signalling, 'From here to here is my Chanel section. It's awesome, isn't it?'

Lagerfeld is set to turn his lens of the singer next week in London, when the campaign will be shot by the fashion guru himself.

It's not surprising that lily Allen has converted what was originally a bathroom, into a closet. She will add sass to the campaign, and not be a typical airbrushed model. Approachable.. that was lagerfelds idea.
