Gap to sell online at ASOS
By Lucy Hutchings on Thursday 30 April 2009
Asos.com is fast becoming a one-stop shop for the high street's best brands, and this week it's scored yet another style coup, with news that it will sell Gap for the first time online.
Available from August, the move marks Gap's first UK foray into web sales, and will see asos stock women's, men's and childrenswear.
Nick Robertson, asos.com's chief executive, commented, 'Choice is key to the asos.com proposition and we are delighted to welcome Gap onboard to further enhance the strength of our branded offering.'
The latest acquisition sees asos's impressive line-up of brands top 800, and follows yet more good news from the online fashion haven. This week it announced that sales were up by 104% over the last 12 months.

I do love ASOS, don't get me wrong, but it will soon be monopolising the market.
There are so many good online retailers out there, that find it hard to get exposure. I like to spread the wealth a little, there's more to life than Amazon and ASOS.
I can't believe a retailers like Gap has taken so long to get online in the UK. Same with Banana Republic. They really need to be more innovative. You snooze, you lose.
