Banana Republic gets eco-aware for summer
By Lucy Hutchings on Tuesday 28 April 2009
Banana Republic has given us yet another reason to covet its sophisticated style this spring, with the launch of its Heritage Collection.
Bringing together the high street haven's typically elegant aesthetic with eco-aware credentials, the new range more than proves that ethical fashion doesn't have to sacrifice design for going green.
At 45-pieces strong, 90% of the garments employ sustainable fabrics - think organic cotton, bamboo and soy silk – and still maintain the Banana look we’ve come to love.
Based around a subdued palette of whites, cream, slate and ecru, the soft deconstructed casual silhouettes epitomise casual chic. Pantaloon shorts, breezy shirts, elegant blouses and slouchy trousers are all destined to become weekend essentials.
The collection hits stores this week.
