M&S gets the Zandra Rhodes touch
By Lucy Hutchings on Monday 20 April 2009
Marks & Spencers is getting a dose of swinging Sixties style next month, with a little help from one of the decade's best loved fashionistas – Zandra Rhodes.
Launching on 7 May, the legendary designer has created a capsule womenswear collection for the high street giant, which includes everything from underwear to jumpsuits, swimwear, bags and dresses, all in Rhodes' signature bright hues and bold prints.
Speaking about the venture, Rhodes commented, 'Marks & Spencer do a wonderful product range and I have always wanted to design for them.
'I am thrilled to see my prints and their beautiful clothes reach a wide range of consumers.'
M&S head of womenswear design, Neil Hendy, added, 'This has been an amazing opportunity to work with such a well-known designer and a perfect fit for M&S. Zandra's unique prints and aesthetic work really well for our customers.'
Rhodes is the latest fashion icon to bring her designer style to the high street with Marks and Spencer. Last year, the store launched a collection from Sex and the City stylist Patricia Field.
