Royals hit the red carpet

By Lucy Hutchings  on Wednesday 4 March 2009

Sarah Ferguson-Princess Beatrice-and-Princess Eugenie

It was all about the royals at last night's premiere of The Young Victoria.

Not only is the period drama based on the early life of Queen Victoria, but it was her great great granddaughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, who took centre stage on the red carpet, causing a flashbulb frenzy as they posed alongside their mother, Sarah Ferguson.

Continuing their style ascent, the princesses both chose styles by London designer, Alice Temperley, with Beatrice in an electric blue draped asymetric minidress and Eugenie, elegant in an ivory silk gown, with beautiful beaded detailing.

Keeping up the imperial theme, their mother sported a dress by the grand dame of British fashion, Vivienne Westwood, in regal purple.

Westwood was also the designer of choice for the film's stunning star, Emily Blunt, who went floor-length and strapless for her moment in the spotlight.

Golly, they really aren't much to look at!

I dont know whether this was just a particularly bad photograph but Beatrice's dress looks shapeless on her and Eugenie's looks like a nightie!

Sarah Ferguson divorcee Duchess of York ... looking good with Royal Family ... wow what a lovely outfit!

I see you are trying to convince us that Eugenie and Beatrice have dress sense, missed out again!

Eugenie is getting there slowly but still needs some help. Beatrice needs big time HELP and not from her mum who never had much idea about how to dress.

Please get someone to point her in the right direction for clothes that flatter her and make the most of her good points.
She could look stunning with help and a hairdresser

Sarah looks good - but her daughters - forgive me - look fat!!!! Beatrice hasn't got a neck, she shouldn't be wearing the kind of dresses that emphasis the lack of neck like this one, and also their knees are too large to expose them!!! Only my opinion, but these royal women have matronly bosoms too, no doubt inherited from Queen Victoria down the line to the German Queen Mary!!!!No use trying to hide them - they flow bless them!!!

Oh Dear, you have the right name Cate, quite caty comments from you about this photo!!
Sarah looks stunning for one,for a middle aged lady, well toned, and the Vivienne Westwood dress true class. I saw myself Vivienne top class exhibition at a South Yorkshire venue ,so I have seen her art from my own eyes!
Beatrice and Eugenie, good on them if they have " ample bosom "! Thousands of British Women pay thousands to enhance their bosoms in the first place,I am not there to judge them......

Telly Tubbies or what!

This comment is for Marie Jones - I appreciate your point of view, but if you're going to comment on my remarks, at least get the spelling right and not make a mockery of my name!!! Catty is the word you should have used, and as for calling me catty because of my name Cate is vulgar as I see it!!! Read the other comments and you will see I was not the only one to comment on Sarah's daughters' shapes, what I meant by my comments is that for these royal ladies and their backgrounds and education and freebies that they get, they should use their dress sense to perfection, whilst we mere mortals who spend our own money, should look up to them!!!! That's why people like them get vilified by the common people, because they have had years of living with a golden spoon in their mouths, but still get it wrong!!!As for thousands of British people getting their bosoms enlarged, just think, in about 30 years' time (or sooner)there are going to be an awful lot of demented women with oversized breasts and no brains, and no idea how they got there!!!!! So - if you have a large chest, pls dress accordingly.
As for the film "The Young Victoria" we all know how Beatrice got a part in the film.... need I say more??? Talent or because of who you are???? And like I said, that dress was awful on Bea - it makes her knees look large.. but that's only my opinion.....
