Posh dresses sell out in minutes
By Lucy Hutchings on Thursday 26 February 2009
Despite their £1,000 plus price tag, Victoria Beckham's collection of dresses has sold out within minutes, after its launch on luxury e-tailer, Net-a-Porter.com.
Six of the super-luxe frocks hit the online fashion haven yesterday morning, and though the prices ranged from a hefty £1,311 to £1,576, the dresses sold out in mere minutes.
Today all that is left is a size 12 of the Bidart dress, a kimono style, which Posh has been spotted in on a number of occasions, including while attending a fashion party in Milan last month with husband David.
Like the Bidart, Mrs Beckham has been a one-woman publicity machine for her collection, regularly stepping out in her designs.
Attending last weekend's Elton John Oscars after party, she stepped out in a dramatic full-length, full-sleeved black gown, from her second collection.
Proving her critics wrong, Posh has not only gained a fashionable fan base, but won rave reviews from the world's style critics.
Showing her second collection last week at New York Fashion Week, the press were full of nothing but praise for Posh. The International Herald Tribune raved, 'Beckham has succeeded in creating a collection in her own image with playful gestures and with a sense that, unlike most celebrity lines, she would be proud and pleased to wear every piece herself.'
