A-list hit NY Fashion Week

By Lucy Hutchings  on Wednesday 18 February 2009

Kate Bosworth, New York Fashion Week, A/W 2009

Are the A-list in hiding this New York Fashion Week?

It had appeared so until yesterday, when suddenly the front rows went from being surprisingly star-free, to saturated with celebrity faces.

At Matthew Williamson there was Eva Longoria, whose attempt at granny chic was sadly erring more on the side of granny and less on the chic. Next time, ditch the dowdy housecoat Eva, please!

Over at G-Star, and Mischa Barton continued her seemingly endless tour of the shows (does she do anything else?), adding to a starry line-up that included Brit singer Natasha Bedingfield and actress Emmanuelle Beart.

Fellow OC alumni, Rachel Bilson meanwhile made her first fashion week appearance of the week at the Max Azria show. Proving her fashion credentials she tested out this season's asymmetric trend, with a raspberry pink one-shouldered dress.

Kate Bosworth provided one of our favourite looks of the day, when she beamed for the cameras at Diesel Black Gold. Naturally gorgeous, she kept it casual, with minimal make-up and lots of layers. She was joined by Nicole Richie and Roisin Murphy.

Onto the evening, and the first big bash of the week attracted the week's first big celebrity crowd. Victoria Beckham, Leonardo DiCaprio, Josh Hartnett, January Jones and Chace Crawford were amongst the starry line-up out to celebrate Armanis' 5th Avenue store opening.
