The evening may have been all about her man, but that's no excuse for this drab example of red carpet dressing from the usually impeccable Keira Knightley.

As firm fans of the British starlet's typically feminine style, we couldn't believe our eyes when pics of the Cheri premiere landed in our inboxes this morning.

Out to support her beau, Rupert Friend, who stars in the film alongside Michelle Pfeiffer, Keira may not have been the belle of the ball but this look is simply unforgivable.

So, sadly we can see what she was trying to do. Tailored suits have become a red carpet favourite - think Angelina Jolie at the Benjamin Button Berlin premiere, Jennifer Aniston in Burberry and Penelope Cruz at the pre-Oscars lunch – but where these starlets have succeeded, opting for sharp monochromatic colour, and feminine cuts, Keira, sadly, was just off the mark.

The drab taupe hue, teamed with an unflattering high neckline just doesn't work to her advantage, and though we applaud her attempt at the harem, it simply swamps her petite frame.
