Net-a-Porter founder to launch designer sale site

Not content with creating the web's premiere fashion destination, Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet is now turning her attention to cut-price designer style, with the launch of an online outlet.

The site, entitled Outnet, will sell luxury labels like Christian Louboutin, Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney, with up to 80% off the original price.

The site will work by buying in stock that has been ordered and then cancelled by department stores, meaning it can then sell the pieces on at a highly discounted rate.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, Massenet described her latest venture as, 'a silver lining of the recession. Women have got used to discounts. Sale shopping can be grubby but this will be quite chic.'

She added, 'We are very excited about this new brand which will have its own unique offering. It's time to give the sale customer a place she can call her own.'

Massenet launched Net-a-Porter in 2000, and it quickly became one of the web's chicest shopping sites. Outnet is set to launch in April. We can't wait to see what Massenet has in store!
