Jimmy Choo launches the designer welly
By Lucy Hutchings on Wednesday 7 January 2009
Hunter's iconic Wellington boot - a firm favourite with festival-bound fashionistas - has had a luxurious makeover, courtesy of Jimmy Choo.
Featuring a leopard print lining, and embossed crocodile print, the boot retains the classic Hunter shape, but adds a touch of Jimmy Choo bling, with gold-metal buckles and rivets.
Strictly for the label-lovers, these 'practical' Choos come with a whopping £200 plus price tag, and will be available from Jimmy Choo stores, and its website from June.
Speaking to WWD, Hunter Chairman Peter Mullen commented, 'We are delighted to work with Jimmy Choo to create a superbly sophisticated incarnation of our original Wellington boot… the resulting boot has a unique DNA of luxurious practicality.'
Expect to spot them on the the feet on Glastonbury's least sartorially understated attendees this summer!

Crikey, and I thought my friend's Veuve Cliquot Wellies were posh! These are amazing... dare I ask how much?

It had to happen sooner or later. There will be some novelty value in Jimmy Choo Hunters, I suppose.
Seeing as the current durability of standard Hunter wellies (now made cheaply in China, but still retailing at £55 a pair) is awful, with boots splitting or cracking in less than a year in regular use, I can't see the Jimmy Choo versions lasting any longer.
