Alice Temperley cancels fashion show

Alice Temperley has become the latest fashion designer to quit the official runway schedule of next February's New York Fashion Week.

Only last week, Vera Wang and Betsey Johnson said they would have presentations during fashion week rather than expensive catwalk shows, and now Alice is joining them.

However, that doesn't mean she doesn't have anything special up her sleeve. Instead of a traditional show, Alice has been hard at work with photographers and videographers to produce a series of film installations, which will be screened in New York, London and Paris.

'From an economic and environmental point of view, it has become more and more difficult to support the constant global travel schedule for fashion sellers, buyers, and press,' Lars von Bennigsen, Alice's husband and CEO of Temperley London, said in an official statement.

'By employing cutting edge technology and talent, the four seasonal installations will allow us to communicate our brand message and aesthetic to a larger international audience while supporting both economic and environmental challenges.'
