Could Madonna be the new face of Louis Vuitton?

The fashion world is abuzz with rumours that the Material Girl will be the fashion house's spring/summer '09 face, with WWD reporting that photographer Steven Meisel is on board to shoot the campaign.

It is no surprise that Meisel is already linked to the project, as he has a long history of photographing Madonna. It was he that took all the pics for her infamous Sex book, and he most recently shot the  Vanity Fair cover, which saw her clutching a giant globe.

Although she is known to pick her endorsements carefully, Madonna is no stranger to advertising campaigns. She has starred in ads for Gap, Versace, H&M and Max Factor in recent years.
