Comme des Garcons for H&M launches today!
By Lucy Hutchings on Thursday 13 November 2008
Fashionistas will have had today's date marked in their diary for months, as Comme des Garcons highly anticipated collection for H&M lands in stores at 9am.
Debuting last week at the high street haven's Tokyo store, eager style setters queued for days to get their hands on the pieces created by the Japanese label's designer, Rei Kawakubo.
Commenting on the range, Kawakubo described, 'I thought it would be exciting to work with H&M in order to sell Comme des Garçons clothes in places where they have never been sold before, and to appeal to people who may not yet understand Comme des Garçons.
'Marrying the commercial expertise of H&M with Comme des Garçons creativity was a fascinating challenge,' he added.
As the latest design house to sign up to create a diffusion line for H&M, Comme des Garcons follow in the footsteps of Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld and Viktor & Rolf.
As with these previous collaborations, the latest collection manages to retain the designer's
signature style, yet at an accessible price.

To celebrate the collection hitting London, a host of stylish stars stopped by the Regent Street flagship store last night, including Bond Girl Gemma Arterton, Jaime Winstone, Katy Perry and Jourdan Dunn.
Here they snapped up pieces from the bold collection, which sticks to a palette of black, white, blue and red, and explores notions of deconstruction.
So what will be the sell-out pieces this morning? We predict the trench coat will prove a favourite, while fans of the label will rush for pieces in the Japanese label's signature polka dot. Get to your local store now to avoid disappointment!
