Charlize Theron sued for $20 million

Charlize Theron is facing a $20 million lawsuit, for not following the strict rules of a celebrity endorsement deal.

The Monster actress signed up to represent Swiss watch company Raymond Weil between 2005 and 2006. During the duration of the contract it was stated that she could only wear watches by the brand, which it is claimed she violated by sporting a Dior timepiece.

The luxury timekeepers are now claiming an estimated sum of $20 million for damages.

Theron fought the suit back in February, but a judge ruled last week that it must go to court. She will face trial in New York in October.

The Oscar winner isn't the first celebrity to fall foul of their endorsers. Jessica Simpson faced a similar case with True Religion jeans, as has Melanie Griffith.
