Sofia Coppola to design for Louis Vuitton

Sofia Coppola is reportedly turning fashion designer,  to create a range of bags and shoes for luxury French fashion house Louis Vuitton.

Although a new direction for the film director, the move is not hugely surprising. Coppola is a long-term friend and fan of Vuitton's artistic director, Marc Jacobs, and has starred in advertising for both his perfumes, and for the latest Vuitton campaign, in which she poses with her filmmaker father, Francis Ford.

The fashion world is abuzz with rumours on the collaboration, which is yet to be confirmed, but sources are claiming that the range will launch in Japan, and then will sell worldwide.
