Winslet to play Vivienne Westwood

Kate Winslet is being lined up to play Vivienne Westwood in a biopic about the legendary fashion designer's life.

Overheard front row at Westwood's Gold Label fashion show in Paris last night, the designer's managing director, Carlo D’Amario, told guests: 'Kate Winslet will play Vivienne from the 70s to the present day.'

It's thought Universal will produce the film, which is sure to be a big hit with London's fashion crowd.

There's no confirmation yet from either Winslet's people, nor Universal for that matter, but we can't wait to see Kate take on Britain's favourite fashion face.

Wonder if she'll dare recreate Vivienne's Buckingham Palace flashing incident?
