Audrey Tatou to play Coco Chanel
Audrey Tatou is set to play Coco Chanel in a biopic of the fashion designer's life.
The French actress – who is also the face of Chanel No.5 – has accepted the role of the legendary French designer whose modernist philosophy on style made her one of the most important fashion figures of the twentieth century.
Responsible for giving the world the little black dress, the bestselling perfume of all time and clothing that enabled women to throw off the shackles of the corset, the new movie, backed financially by Warner Bros., will be titled Coco Avant Chanel.
Filming is set to commence in Paris on 15 September and, to our delight, we can expect a visual feast of dresses from the Chanel collection up on the big screen.
Chanel's head designer, Karl Largerfeld, will oversee the re-creation of stunning costumes and accessories. If only we could book our tickets now!

Where will this film released?

I taped this miniseries and watched the full 3 hours yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've never read anything about Coco Chanel so I cannot say how close to her real life the movie portrayed, however, Audrey Tatou is outstanding - a wonderful actress in my opinion. Very happy to see a series that used good taste and integrity. I find it odd though that the advertisements make it look like Shirley McLaine is the star of the series which is so very far from the truth. Ms. Tatou deserves a lot more press than she is getting - she was delightful.
