A new handbag designed by Samantha Cameron is becoming the must-have accessory for celebrities this season.

The wife of Tory party leader, David Cameron, already has a celebrity following for her £775 Maze bag, with Hollywood actresses Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jennifer Connelly both snapping up the luxury bag.

Mrs Cameron designs for high-end leather goods and stationary company, Smythson and since the mustard-coloured handbag, her second design for the firm, went on sale in June, Smythson has been 'inundated' with orders to its website.

A spokesman for Smythson confirmed the bag's popularity saying: 'We are very pleased with the levels of demand which we regard as a good omen for the main autumn/winter selling season to come.'

Samantha Cameron's debut bag was also a runaway success last year. The £950 Nancy was spotted on the arm of stars from Madonna to TV presenter Cat Deeley. The 37-year-old mother of three was appointed creative director of the company ten years ago.

The Maze has proved so successful that a larger size priced £895 and a clutch version at £525 will soon be available and if mustard isn't your colour, don't panic as different coloured versions have just hit the shelves.
