Ballet just got a whole lot more stylish. This autumn, ballerinas at London's Sadler's Wells won't be dressed by their usual tutu makers, but by some of New York's hottest fashion designers.

Step forward Narciso Rodriguez and Isabel Toledo, who have both taken time out from working on their New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2009 collection to create sumptuous costumes for Sadler’s Wells one-year-old resident guest company, Morphoses / The Wheeldon Company.

This transatlantic ballet company features ballerinas from both The Royal Ballet and New York City Ballet and was created by renowned British choreographer Christopher Wheeldon.

The group will premiere two debut performances in London this autumn, both featuring special fashion-forward costumes, alongside set designs from fashion illustrator, and Isabel's partner, Ruben Toledo.

Alongside the new pieces, the famous Fool's Paradise (pictured here) will also be performed, again featuring costume by Narciso Rodriguez.
