Liz Walker celebrates 14 years at Marie Claire

Marie Claire: Elizabeth Walker's cocktail party

Marie Claire celebrated in style this week to honour Elizabeth Walker's 14 fabulous years as Executive Fashion and Beauty Editor at the magazine.

The only way we saw fit to mark the auspicious occasion was to flock to Claridge's hotel with a host of familiar industry faces who have worked with the fashion doyenne over the years.

Set in the magnificent French Salon and Drawing Room, guests were treated to sumptuous canapés, while supping on champagne, courtesy of Marks & Spencer and Pink. With beautiful floral displays created by Jamie Aston and lovely scents wafting from Jo Malone candles, the scene was set to pay tribute to Elizabeth's remarkable career.

An array of friends from milliner Stephen Jones and designers Betty Jackson and Bruce Oldfield to Mohammed Al Fayed and Sir Stuart Rose turned out to congratulate Elizabeth on her spectacular contribution to the fashion industry over the years.

Marie Claire Editor Marie O'Riordan toasted our very own fashion legend saying: 'The impressive guest list is a testament to the popularity of Elizabeth and the respect people feel towards her. Her retirement marks the end of an era in fashion - you will not see her like again.'
