Ingrid Hass: BA (Hons) Central Saint Martins graduate show

Graduate fashion week may be the time to spot the style world's next big thing, but this year's also offered a glimpse into the future of ethical fashion.

Pesticide Action Network UK (PAN UK) set up the Organic by Design grant this year, open to fashion students from around the country. From the many applicants, nine were selected, all winning grants from the charity, which promotes sustainable alternatives to chemical agriculture.

The winners incorporated organic materials into their final collections, showing the creative potentials of eco fabrics and sustainable style.

Linda Craig, Director of PAN UK comments, 'The era of exploitation and environmental damage by the fashion industry must now come to an end. These designers show beautifully and creatively what can be achieved in sustainable and Fairtrade fashion.'

First prize went to Central Saint Martin's knitwear student Ingrid Hass, who marieclaire.co.uk singled out as a name to watch at the esteemed college's gradate show.

Further beneficiaries included students from London College Of Fashion, Nottingham Trent University, University of Derby and University Of Wales.
