Vivienne Westwood snubs Sex and the City
She may be the most name-checked fashion designer in the film, but Vivienne Westwood has made it quite clear that she was not a fan of the Sex
and the City movie.
As the designer of Carrie's wedding dress, there are multiple mentions of Westwood's clothes, including a handwritten note from the designer herself, which Carrie is sent alongside her gown.
However, Westwood is obviously not worried about burning bridges with the film's stylist Patricia Field, as she stated, 'I thought Sex and the City was supposed to be about cutting-edge fashion and there was nothing remotely memorable or interesting about what I saw.'
Adding insult to injury, she added, 'I went to the premiere and left after ten minutes.'
Looks like Carrie will have a new designer of choice come the much-rumoured sequel.

I love this woman! She does what she wants, says what she wants, and doesn't care! Will be interesting to see if they do use a different designer in a sequel if they do one. Not that I've seen this one yet, and not that I'm ever clued up on fashion! But I do love Westwood. She's never been one to hold back!

She didn't even give it a chance... how does she know there was nothing 'remotely memorable' if she walked out after only 10 minutes? Much as I adore Vivienne Westwood, in this case her opinion is ridiculous and based on next to nothing!

I would have to agree with VW, the film sounds and looks utterly awful and what is it with Sarah Jessica parker? if you painted her green and she would be the wicked witch of the west from the wizard OZ.

Come on girls! The movie was a hoot and not meant to be taken seriously. Besides it was nice to see some older women on big screen for a change.

I like the movie, but, it was a disappointment as it was nothing like the TV series. By the end, not much had changed since the start.
The ending to the series was so much more refreshing, with everyone getting what they deserved and being fabulous as usual! Maybe they should have left the girls in the past, unless they could make a movie to do the series justice.

I think Vivian should have seen the film through to the end before making a statement about the fashion shown in it. The overall film was fantastic with emotional story lines on every level. I would see it again.
