Ascot Ladies Day fashion
A giant piece of stilton cheese, a scale model of a bathroom and a giant butterfly were amongst the more bizarre creations to adorn women's heads yesterday at Ascot's Ladies Day.
The weird and wonderful creations were the focus of the day, with the bigger the better obviously being the main criteria for many Ladies Day attendees.

Florals and feathers were a favourite amongst race-goers, with giant corsages and sprays of feathers constituting many hats and headpieces.
A host of familiar faces were also in attendance. Dame Helen Mirren looked chic in monochrome stripes and a black wide brimmed hat. The actress, who won an Oscar for her role as Elizabeth II in The Queen, had tea with the woman herself for over an hour during the afternoon.
The royals were out in force, with Princess's Beatrice and Eugenie, both sporting sculptural Phillip Treacy hats, and newly-wed Autumn Philips attending in a fuchsia pink feathered style.

I know this daisy hat looks a little like a shower cap, but I still love it. Unusual, but still pretty. However, I'm definitely not convinced by the stilton hat (check it out in our Ascot gallery, using the link above).

Unusual but pretty? Eat your heart out Esther Williams!!! It puts me in mind of the hat my Mother wore when she and my Dad married - heinous!!
