Nicole Richie announces maternity line

New mums Nicole Richie and Salma Hayek had plenty to talk about at this weekend's Balenciaga store opening in LA, as they indulged in a spot of baby chat..
The pair were spotted laughing and chatting, while Nicole showed Salma a series of pictures on her mobile phone, perhaps of new baby Harlow?
Although separated in age by over fifteen years, both women have recently given birth to their first babies. Salma has a six-month-old daughter Valentina and Richie has a girl named Harlow, born in January this year.
Richie also revealed at the event that not only would she be launching a jewellery line this September, but that she was also designing a maternity line to debut later this year.
She revealed to WWD that Balenciaga had proved a real inspiration to her, after she wore their clothing consistently throughout her own pregnancy.
She commented, 'Thank Nicolas (Ghesquière, Balenciaga's designer). I wore so much Balenciaga during my pregnancy that he was one of my main inspirations.'
On her own line she added, 'My line will be about making women look and feel good at a really emotional time. It's about showing your best self, not your tired, worn-down self. Guys don't go through that, they just don't understand.'

It's been really brilliant to see how Nicole Richie has turned her life around. She has come so far out of Paris Hilton's shadow to stand on her own Choo-clad feet and does it with far more style and class. You almost have to pity Paris for being left in the dust...
