Marchesa to design bridal collection

Already the A-list favourite for red carpet gowns, now Marchesa looks set to be the label of choice for celebrity brides, with the announcement that it will launch a capsule wedding collection next month.

Perhaps inspired by her own wedding, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman married Miramax mogul Harvey Weinstein last December, and designed her own dress, which was described by guests as a 'stunning, pleated ivory tulle gown'.

The label has also been picked by Coleen McLoughlin to design a £100,000 dress for her upcoming summer wedding to Wayne Rooney. It was reported last week that McLoughlin attended an eleven-hour fitting for the gown, with Ms Chapman personally flying to London to oversee it. The dress is rumoured to feature a 25ft train, and was escorted by a team of security guards back to Marchesa's Chelsea office following the fitting.

If anything, I think that Coleen looked so absolutely stunning and understated, that it will have added to the desire to buy Marchesa. Go Coleen!
