Marie Claire Fashion: London Fashion Week, Vivienne Westwood

Last night was the biggest show of this season's London Fashion Week: the return of Vivienne Westwood.

Having shown in Paris for the past nine years, the grande dame of British fashion this year chose to grace London instead with her presence, making it the hottest ticket of the week.

Rumours had been circulating for weeks that Kate Moss would stalk the catwalk, however, rumour was all it was, and instead it was Noughties supermodel Lily Donaldson who had the honour of escorting Vivienne for her lap of honour after the show.

Of course, front of house wasn't where the real action was: backstage, the Marie Claire TV crew was on hand to interview Ms Westwood on camera, but not before first having to watch as she booted the make-up artists out of position and took over doing the models' faces herself and then as she popped off to one of the Portaloos to change into her show outfit, which she'd brought along in a blue plastic bag.

She might be Britain's most famous fashion designer, but clearly she's not above being practical when the occasion arises.

Other shows of the day included Jenny Packham, which attracted the likes of Jamelia and Anastasia, Issa and the other hot ticket, Luella, which had Lily Allen, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Sienna Miller's sister Savannah on the front row.

as also vivienne westwood surpasses herself. this year her comback was phenominal and she looked amazing as ever.
i feel that she only improves as her career goes on and i was incredibly inpressed.
