Heidi Klum picks her Oscar dress

Heidi Klum and Seal Rex Features

Following the shock cancellation of the Golden Globes, the future of this year's Oscars may still be uncertain, but that hasn't stopped Heidi Klum from picking out her dress.

Fashion Week Daily reports that the supermodel has chosen a custom-made couture red gown by John Galliano for the ceremony, which is due to take place on 24 February.

Once the awards are over, Klum is then donating the dress to charity, to raise money and give one lucky winner the chance to own her designer gown.

The dress will form part of the Red Dress programme, an initiative between Diet Coke and the National Institutes of Health's The Heart Truth, to raise awareness of heart disease in women. Each person that donates $1 to the charity on Mycokerewards.com will have the chance to win Klum's designer dress, and raise funds for this worthy cause.

What a fabulous idea! Good for Heidi! I am 29 and two years ago learnt that I have problems with my heart. So little is said of the condition in women and the young in general so I am pleased to see Heidi raising awareness in this way.
My luck and best wishes go out to her and the cause. Well done!
