AFTER YEARS OF designing must-have footwear for women, Manolo Blahnik is branching out with his first line of men's shoes.

Sadly the range, which features bright blue and red brogues and a rather risqué pair of leopard-print sandals, won't be out in time to treat your boyfriend for Christmas – it goes on sale in February.

But it does mean the famous Manolos are no longer just for women. 'It's not a big collection,' the designer told Vogue magazine.

'There are some simple sandals in beautiful materials, and a few classics – with a twist. I thought it was time to bring back some colour into the male wardrobe.'

Last month the London-based designer was presented with an honorary CBE by the culture secretary James Purnell in recognition of his contribution to fashion.
