Yves Saint Laurent:The Film, the hotly-tipped new movie biopic about the legendary fashion icon, has now had its first trailer release - and it looks every bit as glamorous as we'd hoped.

The Jalil Lespert movie, set for a January 2014 unveiling, will cover the audacious and much-adored French designer's tumultuous life story, focusing particularly on his relationship with lifelong business and romantic partner, Pierre Bergé.

Bergé, who also co-founded YSL's eponymous French fashion house, has openly endorsed the silver-screen translation of his former lover's life, making the idea of an accurate cinematic portrayal of one of fashion's most celebrated icons all the more tantalising.

In the trailer, a 21-year-old Saint Laurent is seen being announced as the creative director of Dior before being bombarded with a flurry of questions from eager reporters.

Saint Laurent, who died in June 2008 and will be played by Pierre Niney, is seen calmly replying: 'I can't describe everything I feel, but I'll do my best and to the end.'

The trailer also allows us a sneak peek of the designer's incredible avant-garde garments, decadent catwalk shows and glitzy backstage parties - safe to say, we can't wait to see the stylish sartorial masterpiece in full come January 8.
