Why we've fallen for Freida Pinto's style
We’ve got a new style crush on the marieclaire.co.uk desk: Slumdog Millionaire beauty Frieda Pinto.
It all started last month, when faced with a sea of established starlets at the SAG Awards, Pinto more than held her own and wowed in an ultra-feminine Marchesa gown and Martin Katz diamonds.
But it’s not just her red carpet frocks that have given us fashion lust.
The actress has handled her rapid rise to fame with nothing but elegance and grace -note the lemon yellow prom dress she charmed in on The Late Late Show, or the pretty pastel pink number she sported for Jay Leno.
Bucking the typical sartorial choices of actresses new to the scene, Pinto hasn’t played it safe or shyed away from style statements, instead embracing bright vibrant hues.
And then there is the long list of designer names scrambling to dress her. She been spotted in Chanel, Zac Posen, Dolce & Gabbana, Derek Lam, Donna Karan and Gaultier, to name just a some of the delectable selection. We’re swooning just at the thought of her bulging wardrobe.
With the expectations high, we’re hoping for big things at this weekend’s BAFTAs, stylistically at least, for the glamorous star. If past events are anything to go by, we won’t be disappointed.
