The Sex and the City star leaves her post at the legendary American fashion label

It seemed like a match made in fashion heaven, but it appears that Sarah Jessica Parker’s role at Halston Heritage has come to an end.

The Sex and the City star was appointed in January 2010 as President of Halston Heritage – a disco tinged studio 54-inspired diffusion line launched by the iconic American fashion brand – and became the poster girl for the label, wearing the line’s glamorous gowns to a string of red carpet events.

However, the partnership appears to have come to an end amidst reports of financial struggles at the label.

No formal announcement has been made by either party, but it’s understood that SJP may have stepped down after falling out with senior executives at the brand following the dismissal of Halston Heritage CEO Bonnie Takhar.

There have been further murmurings of financial problems at Halston Heritage, that’s also seen movie mogul Harvey Weinstein pull his monetary support for the brand after four years of investment. Reports suggest that Halston is currently looking for new funders to put the label up for sale.

Halston Heritage was launched in 2009 giving signature archive Halston pieces a contemporary spin. The line features bundles of glamorous pleated gowns, tuxedo-style tailoring, cocktail minidresses and '70s-inspired jumpsuits in metallic sheens, black and vibrant colours.
