One of our absolute favourite labels, Rodarte is teaming up with & Other Stories to bring their high fashion aesthetic to the high street.
Design duo (and sisters) Kate and Laura Mulleavy have twisted their unique brand of dark glamour into ready-to-wear, jewellery and accessories for the retailer, and the 48 piece collection echoes the exquisitely detailed, beautifully made runway offerings that they present at New York Fashion Week.
In stores and online from 17th March, prices for the line start at just £19 for jewellery and max at £245 for outerwear. Considering that an actual Rodarte wow-dress can set you back a few thousand, we’re calling this the ultimate chance to grab a slice of the luxe label for less.
Kate and Laura, whose A-list clients have included Natalie Portman and Beyonce, have been in talks with & Other Stories since 2014 (that’s the kind of level of exclusivity we’re talking about with the Rodarte ladies) and the fruits are really so much more than your average designer / high street collab.
‘We wanted to create a collection that represents the textures of a California lifestyle,’ the sisters explained. ‘The clothes should easily transition from day to night and transform to one's personal style and individuality.
For us, it was important to create go-to staples for one's wardrobe: a great jacket, dress, skirt, blouse, sweater, shoes and a set of jewellery that are completely versatile.’
