The supermodel is 'in negotiations' with several brands to launch a fashion collection
Fashion’s feistiest supermodel, Naomi Campbell, is planning to launch a fashion collection and may be ready to make her design debut as early as next spring.
'I’ve been approached by a few brands to design a line for them, it’s something that interests me and I’m in negotiations,' she told the Mail Online. “I’ll be sure to let you know as soon as I have an announcement to make…watch this space!”
The 44-year-old hinted to accessories and footwear collections, as well as clothing, stating that she has “several lines under discussion.” Naomi’s never been one to shy away from an experimental cut (well you wouldn’t with that body, would you) and we hope to see plenty of her signature bling, fierce heels and brave colour combos in the range.
The mentor and executive producer on The Face previously noted that she wouldn’t want to compete with her designer friends by setting up her own label as “maybe if I do my own line they won’t work with me anymore!” “I’m always so proud of my friends who develop great lines in fashion, I’m genuinely happy to wear the clothes they create,” she said.
So perhaps more of a collaboration is on the cards, a la Kate Moss for Topshop? With designer BFFs including Azzedine Alaïa and Roberto Cavalli, she’s got plenty of potential business partners to choose from.
