Miranda Kerr, Helena Christensen and Isabella Fontana join the world's most in-demand models in some celebratory birthday images to mark 50 years of the Pirelli calendar.

As part of the 50th anniversary, the Victoria's Secret Angels are photographed with Karolina Kurkova, Alek Wek and super-model Helena Christensen for a sexy studio shoot.

Pirelli bagged two of the best fashion photographers to shoot the celebratory images and the calendar is expected to feature many more famous faces when the full piece is revealed in Milan on 21 November.

Patrick Demarchelier shoots the models draped in oversized white shirts and tiny white undies, as they fawn over each other in giggles and smoulder for the camera in various hues of black, white and full colour.

The images are a testament to Pirelli's previous 49 'nudie' calendars, brought in to build brand awareness in 1964, where six of the world's hottest models - limbs interlocked - show off their model-thin pins in classic red-soled Louboutins.

Patrick spoke to the Sunday Times style about the shoot, saying, 'Pirelli is not a job, really. You do what you want. It's very liberating.'

In what will presumably be the winter month images, Peter Lindbergh shoots the six beauties with their best salty hair sweeps and shadowing black eye make-up on a mock-beach, clad in thick knitted jumpers.

Of the shoot, Lindbergh said: 'About 25 companies have asked me to do a calendar like Pirelli. They want chocolate or machines in the picture. What do I tell them?'

Well, he politely tells them to go elsewhere.

The calendar will be made exclusively available to 20,000 VIPs, so we won't be able to buy it, but we'll still be channelling Miranda in a big jumper on the beach in January, however.
