The Duchess of Sussex is quickly becoming known for (amongst other things of course) her impeccable jewellery taste. She changed her engagement ring to make it more unique, updated these earrings and has caused initial necklace sales to surge by wearing her 'A' necklace.

And yesterday, a post on the Sussex Royal showed Meghan wearing a pretty unique bracelet, and it highlighted a great cause.

The photos were from the royals' 2017 trip to Botswana, and shared to mark #WorldElephantDay, and Hello pointed out that the traditional silver bracelet seen on her left wrist used to be made out of elephant hair, though now it's made out of different materials.

The bracelet is believe to bring love, health and luck to those who wear it. There is also the fact that Meghan wore it on her left wrist, which apparently shows it was given to her by a loved one, rather than made from an elephant you've killed.

The symbol is also linked to fertility, another important part of the Duchess' journey, as she of course had baby Archie almost two years later.

On Instagram, the couple wrote, 'Today is #WorldElephantDay and we are pleased to announce that since we followed our friends at @ElephantswithoutBorders (EWB) on Instagram in July, when we were celebrating the environment, you and our friend @TheEllenFund(@TheEllenShow) have spread the word and EWB have been able to help protect 25 elephants by fitting them with satellite navigation collars!

These collars allow the team at EWB to track the elephants, as well as to learn their essential migratory patterns to keep their corridors safe and open so future generations of elephants can roam freely. In honour of this amazing support, EWB have named their most recently collared Elephant...ELLEN! We can’t wait to see where she will go! 🐘

Two years ago on World Elephant Day, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined Dr Chase to help in this conservation effort.'

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
