Mango's new collection is the best yet and here's the proof

Say goodbye to your pay check

Say goodbye to your pay check

If you're shopping on the high street, you'll always find something to buy in the new Zara collection or at Topshop, but you know what? Mango is absolutely killing it this season, and once you see the new collection, it'll be your first port of call when you get paid. Trust me.

First off, there's the accessories, and boy are they good at the moment. In terms of bags, they've got a style for every occasion. Think smart leather tote bags for work, cute printed clutches for going out, and clear hold-alls with serious Off-White vibes for the weekend. And of course, basket bags are back in full force, so there's no point holding out on the trend.

Then the shoes, which are so pretty I want one of each. I'm especially in love with the vibrant satin mules which are the quickest way to update an outfit for the new season. Sandals are also starting to slowly drop, with this summer's footwear leaning towards a minimalist, athleisure aesthetic (try saying that three times in a row after a glass of wine).

While the accessories game is strong, that's not to say the main fashion isn't, because it is. You can expect stripes, stripes and more stripes in your wardrobe for SS18, be it a candy stripe dress (already on the wish list), monochrome blazer or green blouse.

You'll notice much more colour too, with millenial pink still going strong, but with major competition from acid green, which will look great mixed in with paired back shades, or with a bright pink for a statement look.

Penny Goldstone

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
