As part of Selfridges current ‘Britannica 1951—1953 exhibition,’ the store is holding a panel discussion to which you are invited to!
A panel of leading curators, historians, designers and fashion commentators will gather in the store on the evening of 25 May for an informal discussion on the core themes underpinning the exhibition.
The panel will reflect on the enduring fascination with 1950s fashion, particularly in this Diamond Jubilee year, and consider it from the differing perspectives of each panelist.
Milliner, Stephen Jones will re-imagine the decade through the eyes of the contemporary consumer, while dress historian, Amy de la Haye will revisit the 1950s from the present, using the designs of Oliver Messel and Victor Steibel as case studies.
To be part of the audience rsvp to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Attendance is free but rsvp is essential.
