Michelle Obama adds Boden to her style radar

After flying the flag for UK style last week, in a Basso & Brooke top, it's now been revealed that Michelle Obama has ordered a catalogue from the quintessentially British fashion brand, Boden.

The First Lady is no stranger to mail order, and is often spotted in clothes from US catalogue giant J. Crew, but now she's apparently been browsing Boden as well.

Mrs O reportedly first learnt of the label after her trip to Britain for the G20 summit.

The label already has a bulging list of political fans, including David and Samantha Cameron and Boris Johnson, but an endorsement from the ever-stylish First Lady would certainly be the icing on the cake, and most definitely lead to soaring sales for the company.

Whenever the stylish politico has donned pieces from high street favourite J.Crew, they have rapidly sold out, and then cropped up on eBay selling for multiple times the original price.

And though she may dabble in affordable labels, Mrs Obama has proved she's more than at home in high-end as well.

Attending the reopening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's American Wing yesterday, she looked radiant in an amethyst Isaac Mizrahi pre-fall '09 shift dress and matching coat. Another example of her impeccable style, the hue was a simply stunning choice.
