The Genius Dior AW15 couture show

'Part church, part garden, part nightclub in Ibiza' is how Christian Dior creative director Raf Simons described his Dior AW15 couture show. Entering what appeared to be an exquisitely hand-painted greenhouse in the garden of the Musée Rodin was almost like stepping into a fantasy land – and the clothes were equally magical…

Dior's latest collection was definitely not for shy eyes – it was a kaleidoscope of colour and volume. The show did start with airy floor-length white chiffon maxis and gorgeous gowns, but the colour soon came with the beautiful wool coats in moss green shades and purple. The wool coats looked cape like, creating stunning oversized silhouettes and character. The mix of masses of white chiffon and cotton with the hardness of the coats provided a striking contrast to look at. Embroidery was also key to the collection and our favourite accessory was the on-trend wedges in metallics.

Raf's classic florals popped up throughout the collection, too, and were more beautiful than ever. They were contemporised with the addition of strong pops of colours, including red, blue, pink and deep purple.

Verdict? The collection was new, fresh and exciting. It was, as it always is with Raf, a work of art at its best. Genius!

Thank you Dior!
