Glitz, glam and plenty of A-list stars light up Paris for the first day of Couture Fashion Week
Couture Fashion Week kicked off in Paris yesterday with Hollywood’s most fashionable stars in attendance.
With Dior proving the biggest draw of the day, all eyes were on a newly single Liv Tyler, who brought sister Chelsea along for moral support. Other names propping up the front row included Eva Mendes, Janet Jackson and Claudia Schiffer.
So what about the clothes themselves? Well, it doesn’t appear the credit crunch has hit Paris yet. Couture sales are up 35% year-on-year, for the elite few who can afford the eye-popping price tags, and Dior is in the market to make some sales.
‘There’s a sexy new step in the salon,’ said designer John Galliano of his sumptuous collection, staged in the beautiful grounds of the Rodin Museum.
