The Balenciaga x Net-A-Porter capsule collection is the treat you deserve
The gold mules are INSANE
The gold mules are INSANE
It's January, it's bleak, so let's be honest, you deserve a pick-me-up - and Balenciaga and Net-A-Porter are only happy to oblige. The two fashion powerhouses have collaborated for the capsule collection of dreams and I've already added about 10 items to my wish list.
First on the list are the Balenciaga neon spandex sock boots which have reigned supreme on the FROW at Fashion Month for the past couple of seasons, so if you're looking to invest, now's the time.
Then there are the mules of dreams, a gold slip-on affair, paired very nicely indeed with neon pink lace tights in the campaign imagery.
Other highlights from the 53-piece collection include SS18 ready-to-wear, bags, jewellery and accessories with limited-edition colourways and prints across archetypal styles from the runway show. Think jersey tees and hoodies, woven shirts and dresses, quilted aluminum bags and fashion sneakers.
This is also the first time Balenciaga has collaborated on dual women’s and men’s exclusive collections, as it's dropping some seriously cool piece on Mr Porter too, with a focus on outerwear and sweaters - great if you prefer a more androgynous style, plus you can 'borrow' it from your other half too. Try the iconic 'BB Mode' hoodie or sock sneakers.

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.
Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).
Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.
However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.
Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
