Chris Hemsworth returns as the Huntsman in the latest trailer for the sequel/prequel/spin-off of Snow White & The Huntsman

If 2015 didn't fulfill your need for dark fairytales (sorry Cinderella), get excited because next year is looking to be so much better.

For those of you who loved the fierce Snow White and The Huntsman, you're in luck as the official trailer for the sequel The Huntsman: Winter's War has finally dropped.

Described as a sequel/prequel/spin-off, the new film explores how Eric, The Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) came to be so heroic and what happened after the ending of Snow White.

The new film will also introduce Freya (Emily Blunt), Queen Ravenna's sister, an ice queen whose ability to freeze anything leads her to raise a legion of huntsmen including Eric and warrior Sara (Jessica Chastain).

But when Eric and Sara fall in love, they must fight Freya to save the land. And if you were worried the incredibly theatrical Charlize Theron wouldn't return (she was the best part of the first film, non?), worry no more as the trailer confirms that the Evil Queen will be resurrected.

So basically it's Frozen, with a little romance and violence thrown in? We're sold.

Though Kristen Stewart isn't back as Snow White, and the previous director Rupert Sanders is no longer returning (let's just say they have a bit of history), Chris looks more than ready to lead the next chapter in this dark fairytale saga.

He'll also be getting some badass support from some of Hollywood's leading ladies - Emily, Jessica and Charlize. Want more could you want? And does this mean another addition to our fave feminist heroes?

Not convinced? See the epic trailer here...
