What Is Tidal? Sorry folks, Tidal is not a charity drive to save the world's endangered marine life. It’s Jay Z’s new music streaming business, aiming to rival Spotify and give artists some control back over their music. For £19.99 per month, subscribers in 31 countries will be able to access High Fidelity sound quality and High Definition music videos for over 25 million songs. With Mr Carter and friends at the helm, the site will offer world exclusive previews of new tracks before anyone else in the world. World domination, anyone?

Tidal For All started trending on Twitter as the Beyhive, Rihanna’s Navy and Minaj’s Barbiez began changing their profile pictures to a turquoise square in support.
