We're going to be seeing a lot more of Eddie over the next couple of months - and that can only be a good thing, right? Right.

Eddie Redmayne has just won his first major award of the season for The Theory of Everything, which means we're going to be seeing a lot more of this young actor over the next couple of months - and that can only be a good thing, right? Right.

This is why Eddie Redmayne is undoubtedly the man of the hour/day/month/year (delete as you see appropriate).

1. Forget him for a sec, it's his new wife we're actually crushing on...

We've long been fans of Eddie's low-key romance with PR Hannah Bagshawe and the cute couple tied the knot with a 'Winter Wonderland' ceremony at Babington House in December. Get ready for many red carpet appearances from the honeymooning pair - the first being at the Palm Springs Film Festival last weekend, where Hannah supported Eddie as he won the top honour, the Desert Palm Achievement Award. Hannah, 32, has style by the bucketload and favours classic glamour, with her go-to designers being Burberry and Gucci. We cannot wait to see her Oscars 2014 dress.

2. Eddie's style isn't bad either, though.

The actor was crowned Best Dressed Man of the Year 2014 by GQ magazine, beating the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Jamie Dornan, Idris Elba, Nick Grimshaw and Prince George to the title. A former face of Burberry, the star describes his style as 'battered.' But, with his favoured brands being Burberry (natch) and McQueen, we'd prefer to describe his style as classically laid-back. Prepare for a string of sartorial delights from Mr Redmayne this award season, people.

3. The Theory of Everything really is everything.

Eddie's portrayal of Professor Stephen Hawking is outstanding and heart-wrenching - and the British talent deserves every bit of industry praise he's getting for this career-defining role. Out at cinemas now, we recommend you stockpile the Kleenex in advance. Watch an exclusive interview with Eddie about his work in The Theory of Everything below.

4. Awards season is most definitely his for the taking.

He already has a Golden Globe nomination for best actor, as well as a Screen Actors Guild nod, where he will go up against fellow Brit star Benedict Cumberbatch for his role in The Imitation Game. There can be no doubt that this is going to be the year of Redmayne. Just wait until the Oscar nominations roll in on Thursday 15th.
