The pregnant Scandal actress has been redefining the rules of maternity style over the past few months

Kerry Washington has long been lauded as a style star, making waves and starting trends everwhere she goes.

So we should have known to expect greatness when the Scandal star announced her pregnancy.

As her baby bump grew, the 37-year-old actress' boundary-pushing maternity wear got better and better. As she headed into awards show season, Kerry dressed her bump in the most most stunning (and least matronly) designer duds.

She even sported bare midriff at the SAG Awards in January. Now that's a whole new level of pregnant confidence.

Kerry kept up the maternity momentum at the 2014 NAACP Image Awards on Saturday, where she won the award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series.

She dazzled in a navy custom Thakoon dress and carrying a matching Prada clutch, The glowing mum-to-be wore her hair in a gorgeous side fishtail braid and kept her jewellery to a minimum.

The following afternoon, Kerry celebrated her baby shower at the home of Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes in Los Angeles.

Now that her baby shower is over, Kerry may be ready to kick back and await motherhood in her joggers - but we hope she gives us at least a couple more maternity looks to admire before the baby arrives.
