The Louis Vuitton Cruise show, held in Japan's capital, Kyoto was creative director Nicolas Ghesquiére's fourth Cruise collection for the famed French brand. And it was pretty spectacular...

Where was it?

On the incredible backdrop of the Miho Museum, in south east Kyoto. The catwalk was set on a beautiful bridge surrounded by lush forest. It reminded us a LOT of a Bond villains lair...

The museum designed by architect I. M. Pei, was made to evoke Shangri-la - heaven on earth.

The looks to remember

Louis Vuitton Cruise

A fusion of East vs West with classical Japanese influenced prints, contrasting with leather coats, animal prints and cowboy boots with every. single. look.

Sparkling sequin dresses mini-dresses emblazoned with kabuki masks and warriors, walked alongside studded suede jackets, deep wood coloured leather trenches and samurai armour inspired layering.

The Kabuki-eyed bags were designed with illustrator Kansai Yamamoto - the Japanese designer famous for dressing David Bowie in his glittering Ziggy Stardust creations.

The beauty was bold

The kabuki make-up included thick eye flicks and bold brows on every model, some with bright warrior stripes, striking model's cheekbones.

And it seems statement eyes are the make-up notes to remember for next summer, with Chanel's Cruise show also showcasing a bold liquid slick on the eyes.

Front rowers

Louis Vuitton Cruise 2018

For Louis Vuitton Cruise 2018, Ghesquiére said he was inspired by the 1970s film, 'Stray Cat Rock,' which is about a gang of women on motorcycles - which explains the biker jackets and cowboy boots; mixed in with the strong Japanese kabuki influence.
