Kate Middleton's Baby To Be Honoured With Royal Landmark

by Rebecca Martin

The royal baby might not have grace us with its presence just yet, but it seems to already be a star in Kate Middleton's hometown of Bucklebury in Berkshire.

The Duchess of Cambridge's village is not only planning a series of celebrations once the royal birth has been announced, but is also intending to mark the newborn's arrival with a special honour – a set of wooden gates.

Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton still live in Bucklebury and it's been reported that the Duchess joined them in the family home last weekend to escape the heat of the city while Prince William was playing polo at a charity event in Gloucester.

Police protection officers were spotted outside Carole and Michael's home, according to onlookers, should they need to escort the Duchess to St Mary's Hospital at a moment's notice.

Bucklebury Parish Council member Berry Dickens tells Celebuzz: 'We in the Duchess’s home village are quietly awaiting the Royal Birth. When the happy event has taken place there will be some private parties.'

And that's not all. He added: 'In the longer term we are hoping to mark the occasion with a set of wooden gates at the entrance to The Avenue in Bucklebury and the erection of an ornamental village sign.'

How lovely. Berry revealed that the gates were taken down, but a decision has been made to re-erect them to mark Kate Middleton's marriage into the royal family, and the birth of the royal baby.

Come on little one, we're all waiting…
