Amanda Seyfried, is that really you? The Les Miserables starlet looks almost unrecognisable in the first trailer for upcoming biopic, Lovelace, released online last night.

The actress plays American porn star Linda Lovelace in the film, slated for release later this year - and she couldn't look more different.

Taking up a role reportedly turned down by Kate Hudson and Olivia Wilde, the actress swaps her long blonde locks for a curly brown wig to play the Deep Throat star.

The flick, overseen by Oscar-winners Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, spans Lovelace's live between the ages of 20-32, during her rise to, and subsequent fall from fame.

Amanda Seyfried joins an all-star cast in the film, including James Franco as Hugh Hefner, Chris Noth, Adam Brody, Wes Bentley, and Juno Temple.

Opening up on the risque role after landing the part back in 2011, Amanda Seyfried described the movie as 'terrifying'.

'It’s going to be really hard and kind of terrifying at the same time,' she told ABC news.

'I do have some liberties there but I am playing someone that existed in history and had quite an established reputation for something very extreme.'

Amanda Seyfried replaced Mean Girls co-star Lindsay Lohan in the Linda Lovelace role, after the actress was reportedly sacked from the film.
